For this Christmas, I want to share with you a precious gift, the benefits of knowing God. I’ve known Him since I was a young child. This has greatly impacted my life. I have felt God’s presence and His help through the good times and the times of hardship. I hope this will be a blessing for you.

Benefits of Knowing God
Understanding and Knowing God -- “ . . . but let him who boasts boast about this: that he under- stands and knows Me, that I am the LORD, who exercises kindness, justice and righteousness on earth, for in these I delight, declares the LORD.” Jeremiah 9:24 “Then I will give them a heart to know Me, that I am the LORD; and they shall be My people, and I will be their God, for they shall return to Me with their whole heart.” Jeremiah 24:7

Friendship with God -- “He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.” Micah 6:8 Jesus says, “Here I am! I stand at the door (of your heart) and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with Me.” Revelation 4:20

Pleasing God -- “For the Kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit, because anyone who serves Christ in this way is pleasing to God and approved by men.” Romans 14:17 Jesus said to “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind; and Love your neighbor as yourself.” Luke 10:27

Love -- “The LORD says, ‘Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; Therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you.’” Jeremiah 31:3 “As the Father has loved Me (Jesus) , so have I loved you. Now remain in My love. If you obey My commands, you will remain in My love, just as I have obeyed My Father’s commands and remain in His love. I have told you this so that My joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete.” John 15:9 - 10

Forgiveness -- “Praise the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits -- Who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion., Who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s. Psalm 103: 2 - 5

Joy -- “You have made known to me the path of life; You will fill me with joy in Your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.” Psalm 16:11 “Though you have not seen Him (Jesus Christ), you love Him; and even though you do not see Him now, you believe in Him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy. . .” 1 Peter 1:8

Hope and Peace -- “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans 15:13 “And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philipians 4:7

Comfort and a Promise of Going to Heaven -- Jesus comforts us with these words, “Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God: trust also in Me. In My Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to preprare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with Me that you also may be where I am.” John 14:1 - 3
