WHAT WE BELIEVE

Doctrinal Statement

NationTakers Ministries believe that the whole Bible, both the Old and New Testament, is the inspired word of God. It is without error in the original writings and is the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of mankind. We accept the Bible as the Divine and final authority for all Christian living and faith.

THE DIVINE INSPIRATION OF THE BIBLE
We believe the Holy Scriptures have the divinely inspired revelation of the mind and will of God because:
  1. They declare themselves to be inspired of God. (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:19-21; Hebrews 4:12; Revelation 22:19)
  2. The Lord Jesus Christ accepted them as divinely inspired. (Matthew 5:17-18; 24:35)
  3. To those who accept them as inspired and act upon them they prove themselves to be inspired. (Romans 10:8-13)

THE DOCTRINE OF GOD
We believe in one God, existing eternally in three persons, identified as the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and also referred to as the Holy Trinity by Christians world- wide and as the Godhead in Scriptures. (Romans 1:20; Colossians 2:9). We understand the word “trinity” and what the Scriptures teach regarding the being of God. We understand the triune God as one being in three persons. (Hebrews 1:1-8; Colossians 2:9; 1 Timothy 3:16; Acts 5:3-4; Matthew 3:16-17; Hebrews 9:14)

THE DOCTRINE OF GOD THE FATHER
We believe that God the Father is the head of the Godhead. We believe God the Father is eternal, infinite, and perfect in judgment and holiness. He is the ultimate Cause of all things. He is personal and exists purely as spirit without body parts. He is personal and concerned of every detail and affair of man, answering the prayers of His people. The Father justifies, that is, He “declares” righteous all those who put their faith in Jesus Christ saving them from their sins and thus adopting them as sons of God (Exodus 15:11; 1 Corinthians 8:6; 2 Chronicle 6:18; 20:21; Nahum 1:2; Hosea 11:9; John 1:13; 3:16-18; 4:24; 6:27; 1 Timothy 1:17; Romans 5:1; 8: 15-17, 33; 1 Peter 1:3; Revelation 1:6; 5:9-10; 15:4)

THE DOCTRINE OF CHRIST
We accept the Lord Jesus Christ as the only begotten Son of God the Father, conceived of the Holy Spirit, and born of the Virgin Mary. We believe that He was crucified, buried, and raised from the dead on the third day. He ascended to heaven and is today at the right hand of the Father as our Intercessor. (John 3:16; Matthew 1:18-20; Luke 1:26-31; Mark 10:45; Matthew 14:33; Revelation 5:13-14; Matthew 1:18; Luke 1:26-38; Hebrews 7:25; 1 Peter 2:21-23; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Hebrews 9:28; John 2:19-21; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Acts 1:11)

THE DOCTRINE OF SALVATION
Salvation is the work of God by which He saves mankind from the eternal doom of sin. In salvation He gives to man the riches of His grace, which means eternal life now and forever. It is not the work of man but the work of Christ. Salvation is the New Birth, and it is the evidence of spiritual birth where man comes into a new family called the family of God – He becomes Born Again. (John 1:13, 29; 3:3-8, 14-19, 36; 5:24; 6:37-39, 44, 47; 8:12, 47; 10:26-28; Romans 3:10-19; 4:4-8; 5:1, 8-10; 8:7-8, 15-16, 29-39; 9:21-23; Acts 2:38; 13:48; 5:31; 13:48; 1 John 2:2; 5:12; Ephesians 1:4-5; 2:8-10; 2 Thessalonian 2:13; 2 Corinthians 5:17, 21; Philippians 1:29; 2 Timothy 1:9; Titus 3:5-7; James 2:14-26)

THE DOCTRINE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third person in the Holy Trinity; that He proceeds from the Father and the Son; and is of one substance, majesty, glory, and power with them. We accept Him as the Executive of the Holy Trinity during this age, which means the Holy Spirit is responsible for revealing, convicting, and offering God’s plan of salvation to this present age. We understand that the church owes its existence, its life, its growth, and its ministry to His presence in the earth. (Matthew 3:16; John 14:16-17, 26; 15:26; 16:8-11; Acts 1:8, 2:4, 13:2-4; Galatians 5:21-23; Ephesians 4:30; 1 Thessalonians 4:8)

THE DOCTRINE OF MAN
We believe that God created mankind in His own image and placed them to have dominion over this earthly creation. (Genesis 1:26-29; 2:7; 15:23, 3:1-7; 1 Thessalonians 5:23; Hebrews 4:12; Romans 3:23-24; 5:12; 6:23; 1 Corinthians 15:22; Galatians 3:28-29)

THE DOCTRINE OF SATAN
We believe that Satan (the devil) and his army of demons are spiritual beings that exist in the world today. (Matthew 16:17-20; 25:41; Luke 4:32; 9:42; 10:17-19; Genesis 3:14-15; Acts 10:38; John 4:3-4; 5:18; Isaiah 14:12-19; Ezekiel 28:11-17; 2 Peter 2:4; Jude 1:6; Revelation 12:4)

THE DOCTRINE OF SIN
We believe that sin is any lack of conformity in a person of the character, nature, and will of God, whether it be in thought, word, deed, motive, or attitude. (Genesis 3:1-7; Ezekiel 28:15; Isaiah 14:12-17; Romans 3:23; 5:12-19; 10:8-13; Acts 17:30; 1 Corinthians 15:22; Galatians 3:22)

REPENTANCE
The Scriptures teach that repentance is a turning away from sin and a turning to God in submission and faith. We believe that a godly sorrow brings about repentance, but that sorrow in itself is not necessarily repentance. (Acts 26:18-20; 11:18; 17:30; 2 Corinthians 7:10)

REGENERATION
The Scriptures teach that regeneration is the impartation of a divine new nature into the heart of every repentant believer, causing him to become a new creature in Christ. (John 1:12-13; 3:3, 5, 6; 2 Corinthians 5:17; Ephesians 2:1-5; Titus 3:5-7; 1 Peter 1:23; 1 John 5:1)

RECONCILIATION
Reconciliation is the bringing together of God and man on the grounds of Christ’s redemptive work. This reconciliation brings the believer into a state of fellowship and communion with God. (Romans 5:11; 2 Corinthians 5:18-21; Ephesians 2:16; Colossians 1:21; 1 John 1:3)

REDEMPTION
The Scriptures teach that redemption is that act of God whereby, through the death of His Son, He paid the price, which His own holiness demanded for the release of fallen men. (Luke 1:6-8; Romans 3:23-24; 1 Corinthians 6:20; Galatians 3:13; Ephesians 1:7; 1 Peter 1:18-19; Revelation 5:9-10)

JUSTIFICATION
Justification is the act of God’s free grace whereby He absolves the sinner of all the guilt of his past transgressions and from the condemnation of the depravity into which he was born. This free pardon and forgiveness of all past sins is granted on the sole ground of repentance and the saving faith of God through the imputed righteousness of Jesus Christ; and upon this basis, man enters into peace with God. (Romans 3:25-26; 5:1, 9; 8:30; Galatians 3:24)

WATER BAPTISM
The Scriptures teach that the mode of water baptism practiced by the apostles was single, total immersion in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Since our Lord commanded it, we believe it is subsequent to regeneration and is an outward sign of the inward spiritual work brought about in our hearts through the new birth. (Matthew 28:19; Mark 16:16; Acts 2:38-39; 8:16; 10:48; 19:5; 22:16; Romans 6:4; Colossians 2:12; Galatians 3:27)

SINS OF CHRISTIANS
God has made provisions whereby every Christian, through the power of the indwelling Spirit, may live victoriously over sin. However, due to failure to walk in the Spirit, Christians often fail and commit sin. Under such circumstances, a Christian is to immediately confess his sin to God and to turn to the Holy Spirit for help and guidance. (Romans 6:1-2; 1 John 1:6-22)

HOLINESS AND SANCTIFICATION
God demands holiness in the hearts and lives of all those who are His children by faith and regeneration. God is holy in Himself, and so the obligation to be holy rests upon all the members of His family. (Psalm 22:3; 1 Peter 1:15,16; 2 Corinthians 7:1; 1 Thessalonians 4:7)

THE INDWELLING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
The New Testament teaches that every believer is indwelt by the Holy Spirit at the moment of regeneration. (John 14:16-17; 20:22; Romans 8:9-16; 1 Corinthians 3:16; 2 Corinthians 1:22; Galatians 4:6; Ephesians 3:14-19) This indwelling of the Holy Spirit creates the new nature within the believer and forms the basis for sanctification and the development of spiritual fruit. (Galatians 5:22-23)

THE BAPTISM OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
The Scriptures teach that the baptism in the Holy Spirit is the endowment with power for victorious Christian living and productive service. (Luke 24:49; Acts 1:4-8; 1 Corinthians 12:1-31). The baptism is separate from Salvation and follows the new birth experience. (Acts 8:12-17; Acts 10:44-46; Acts 11:14-16; Acts 15:7-9). The baptism in the Holy Spirit was the normal experience of all believers in the early church and it is a continual pattern and command for all believers to receive this wonderful gift of power. All believers are entitled to receive the baptism in the Holy Spirit and therefore should expect and earnestly seek the promise of the Father according to the command of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Acts 1:6-8; 2:38-39)

THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT
The fruit of the Spirit is distinct from God’s charismatic enablements or gifts, although there are nine of each. (Galatians 5:22-23; 1 Corinthians 12:7-11). The fruit of the Spirit is the outward manifestation of the indwelling Holy Spirit and of the new nature. Charismatic gifts are supernatural provisions in the mind and heart of the born-again person enabling him to minister and to contribute properly, fully, and spiritually to the outreach, nurture, and direction of the church. The fruit of the Spirit is more important in the life of the believer than are the charismatic gifts, because they are the manifestation of the true character of God, whereas the charismatic gifts are an impartation of wisdom, knowledge, and power from God. (John 15:1-9; Romans 6:20-22; 7:4; Ephesians 5:9)

THE CHARISMATIC ENABLEMENTS OR SPIRITUAL GIFTS
The Scriptures teach that during the entire Church Age, Christian believers may seek and experience the operation of the nine-fold ministration of the Holy Spirit known as charismatic enablement or spiritual gifts. In 1 Corinthians 12, 13, 14, they are referred to as “graces” or “enablements,” as the Greek word for gift does not appear in any of these three chapters.

DIVINE HEALING
We believe that divine provision was made for the physical, mental, and spiritual healing of the believer through the redemptive work of Jesus Christ. (Exodus 15:26; Isaiah 53:5; Matthew 8:17; 1 Peter 2:24) Divine healing, by its very title, indicates that it operates according to the sovereign will of God. Believers, therefore, are to minister to the sick in one or more of the following ways, accepting in faith that healing has taken place, and leaving the total manifestation of healing to God alone as continuous “sacrifice of praise” is lifted up. (Mark 16:18; James 5:14-16; Acts 3:1-11; 28:8-9; 1 Corinthians 12:9)

HOLY COMMUNION
We believe that every Christian should participate in Holy Communion, which consists of partaking of the elements of bread (unleavened) and wine (without alcohol ingredients). (Mathew 26:26-28; Luke 22:14-20; 1 Corinthians 10:16-17; 11:23-29)

THE CHURCH
The etymology of the word “church” comes from the Greek word “ekklesia,” which means “a called-out company.” This refers to those who have been called out of the world through regeneration and brought into a vital living spiritual union with Jesus Christ. It is a self-perpetuating spiritual organism comprised of all those who have been regenerated through the Spirit since the church began. (Ephesians 1:18-23; 4:16; Romans 8:30; Acts 15:14-18; 1 Peter 2:9)

THE PRIESTHOOD OF THE BELIEVER
The priesthood of the believer is based upon faith and acceptance of the high priest Jesus Christ. It is not based upon how good we are, how many deeds we do or a church pronouncement. The function of believers as priests is to show forth the praises of God. The Old Testament priesthood consisted of offerings, blood sacrifices on the day of atonement and interceding for the people. That era has passed and now we believe in the New Testament priesthood. Since Jesus has paid the price once and for all, every believer has access to God through Christ, to praise Him, to thank Him, to intercede for those in need of prayer, and to offer up spiritual sacrifices to the Lord. (Hebrews 4:14-16; Hebrew 5:1; Hebrews 7:11-28; Hebrews 8:1-5; Hebrews 9:7-28; Hebrews 10:1-25; 1 Peter 2:1-10)

THE FIVE-FOLD MINISTRY
We believe in the modern day governmental or office gifts that Christ gives to the church: apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers. They are to equip the believers who then release their gifts to be used both in the church and the world. They also oversee the work of Christ in the church. (1 Corinthians 12:28; Ephesians 4:11-13)

TABERNACLE OF DAVID
We believe in demonstrative celebration, praise, and worship to our King Jesus, which is accompanied with vocalists, musical instruments, flags, banners, and dancers. (Psalm 20:5; 33:1-3; 149:1-6; 150:1-6; 2 Samuel 6:2, 5, 14-15; Acts 15:16-18)

PRAYER MINISTRY
We believe that all saints are called by God to participate in prayer, intercession and fasting. (Isaiah 62:6-7; Ezekiel 22:30; Luke 2:36-38; 1 Timothy 2:1)

EVICTION OF DEMONS
We believe in deliverance, which involves helping believers and non-believers to be set free from demonic evil spirits that oppress or possess their lives. (Mark 1:23-26; Acts 5:16)

SPIRITUAL WARFARE
We believe Christians are to occupy the land for God. In doing so they must be actively involved in spiritual warfare to disengage Satan’s power over the land. (Luke 10:17-19; John 12:31; Ephesians 6:12)

THE RETURN OF CHRIST FOR HIS CHURCH
We believe that, according to the Holy Scripture, our Lord will return for His church prior to the Great Tribulation. At that time, He will resurrect those who have died in Him and gather those believers who are alive, and they will be caught up together to meet Him. We believe that this is the imminent and blessed hope of the church. (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Titus 2:13; 1 Corinthians 15:51-55)

THE JUDGMENT SEAT OF CHRIST
The judgment seat of Christ is for Christians only. It is not a judgment to determine whether we are saved or not. The judgment seat of Christ is to reward Christians for the deeds done for the Lord Jesus while living on earth. (1 Corinthians 3:11-15; 2 Corinthians 5:9-10)

THE GREAT TRIBULATION
We believe that the closing days of this age will witness a period of unprecedented tribulation on this earth. (Matthew 24:21-31) We believe that during this time Israel will have already been re-gathered and will accept Jesus Christ as her true Messiah. (Jeremiah 30:3; Romans 11:1, 14, 26)

THE MILLENNIAL REIGN OF JESUS CHRIST
We believe in the literal return of our Lord Jesus Christ to the earth, together with His saints. At this time, He will judge the nations and institute a reign of righteousness, which will last for a thousand years. The Scriptures indicate that this has been the expectation of all true believers for all ages even to the present time. (Psalm 72:8, 11; Psalm 96:10-13; Isaiah 11:1-6; 24:23; Daniel 7:22; Revelation 19:11-20:6; Micah 4:1-7; Zechariah 14:1-9; Matthew 24:29-30; Jude 1:14, 15)

THE NEW HEAVEN AND THE NEW EARTH
The Scriptures teach that as believers we should look for a new heaven and a new earth, in which righteousness shall dwell and over which God shall reign with His people forever. (2 Peter 3:13; Revelation 21:1-22)

PUNISHMENT OF THE WICKED
We believe in the everlasting punishment of the wicked. (Matthew 13:49- 50; 25:46; Luke 16:23-24; Romans 6:23; 2 Thessalonians 1:8-9; Revelation 14:11; 20:6-15; 21:8)

THE COMMANDMENT TO TITHE & GIVE OFFERINGS
Scripture is abundantly clear as to the reason God has given us the commandment to tithe. All of God’s commandments are given for one reason alone, that as we obey them, the Lord is provided with opportunities to bless us. One of God’s greatest desires is to bless His children in the area of financial provision. Therefore, He has given us this commandment to tithe. (Malachi 3:10; Luke 11:42; Matthew 23:23)
As we bring our whole tithe, the first fruits of our labors to God (literally a full 10% of our gross income), the windows, doors, and floodgates of heaven are thrown open for the blessings of God to pour into our lives. In actuality, our tithe is what we bring to God in recognition and thanksgiving of past and present blessings, whereas our offerings and vows of faith are what we plant as seed for future blessings.
We believe that it is very unwise to rob God of His desire to see His children go forth in victorious and abundant living. Our Lord’s promise of abundant life includes glorious financial provision, prosperity, wealth, riches and success. We are consistently obedient to honor Him in the tithe so all these blessings will come upon us. (Deuteronomy 8:18; 26:12-16; Hebrews 7:8; Malachi 3:11, 3 John 2)

SANCTITY OF MARRIAGE
We believe in the sanctity of marriage between a man and a woman. God first ordained and instituted marriage between a man and a woman and from that perspective, marriage has been set in motion for all to follow. (Genesis 2:18-24; Ephesians 5:22-31; Hebrews 13:4)
